Kurt Signs and Noise Research-Third Function Surrender


Third Function Surrender is a remix / collaboration project between Jeremy Gluck (aka Kurt Signs) and Ian Simpson (aka Noise Research). It features a radial reworking of each others works plus the original works, hence 4 tracks in all.

Canadian cult artist Jeremy Gluck is an innovator and visionary.

Accomplished as and continuing to achieve success as a solo recording
and performing artist that has collaborated with and had songs covered
by leading artists, Jeremy Gluck is also an author, poet, visual artist and
in fact creative machine. Collaborations with Marty Thau, Brendon Moeller, Lydia Lunch, Dub Gabriel, Nikki Sudden, Mick Harvey, Rowland S Howard and many others signify Jeremy Gluck as a unique voice and spirit.

Jeremy Gluck is this year engaged in multiple remix projects with
international artists, performing in the United States and Canada, and writing and recording new material with his Bristol-based trio The Carbon Manual, and other artists.

In 2011 Jeremy will write another dense and varied chapter of his
committed and highly productive creative adventure.

Noise Research is the alter-ego of UK Sound Artist / Musician Ian Simpson.

Noise Research has material released on the Electronic Musik (UK), Rift Recordings (UK), Classwar Karaoke (UK), Earth Monkey Productions (UK), A.M.P (S. America), aReW (UK), Rec72 (Germany), Clinical Archives (Russia), Found in a Skip (UK), Kulturterrorismus (Germany), iFar (UK), Itsu Jitsu (UK) and Bivouac (China) labels.

He has adopted an uncompromising approach in both playing and performance which has led to his involvement as a performer with The Frakture Big Band (Liverpool), Noise Club (Liverpool), Gnod (Manchester) Black Forest Orchestra (Cumbria) & FoniK (Manchester). He also actively organises and promotes performances in UK including the Pyramid Experimental Music Festival and Manchester based Electronic Organica Nights. One of his most recent projects is a collaboration with sound artist Graham Dunning, the results of which have been released by Clinical Archives in January 2010. Ian has just finished the soundtrack to a short film, Shard (2011) by London based film-maker David Sant. Ian has also recently recorded with Herve Perez and Richard Knight. His most recent release was on the Scotland based Net Label 'Itsu Jitsu' (2011)
